HOUSE IN PEDRALBES
We set out to organize the housing program in two distinct areas. An area for the zones of relationship: hall, living room, study, dining room, kitchen, service … and another more domestic and private area with bedrooms and bathrooms, complete with several porches and an outdoor pool. The two areas have been located on two different levels based on taking advantage of the strong natural slope of the land. They overlap only in a small area where we have located the stairs, a forklift, and a patio of lights to ventilate. The garden is staged forming several platforms, in such a way that all interior spaces are always related to an outer space at the same level. This situation allows for a great simplicity of interior-exterior relation so typical of the “domus romana”, which was a primordial requirement of the client, absolutely accepted and shared from the beginning by the architects.
